SHOPPING WITH BOOMSHANKA
Terms of sale.
Straightforward terms for buying records, music, films and comics from us.
1. Who you are buying from.
You are buying from Boomshanka Records, Wellington Market, 21 Market Street, Wellington, Telford, Shropshire TF1 1DT, United Kingdom. Contact stephen@boomshankarecords.co.uk or Facebook Messenger. These terms cover orders placed through this website.
2. Our stock and descriptions.
We sell new and used physical items. Check the title, format, condition, edition and any region or age rating shown before ordering. Reference cover images may show a different edition; contact us if an exact pressing, sleeve or version is important to you. Any difference does not remove your right to receive goods as described.
Stock comes from our latest catalogue update. An item in a basket is not reserved. Checkout may place a temporary hold, but stock can also sell in the shop. If an item is unavailable or a material description or price is incorrect, we will contact you rather than substitute it without your agreement. If we cannot fulfil a paid order, we will refund you.
3. Prices and payment.
Item prices are shown in pounds sterling. The item total and any shipping charge we collect are shown before payment. Online payments are processed by PayPal using the payment options it makes available to you, including eligible card payments. Cash is also available for shop collection; delivery requires online payment. We do not collect card details on this website.
A basket or delivery quote request does not place a paid order. Your paid online order is accepted when the website confirms successful payment for it. For cash collection, the website confirms an unpaid reservation instead. No payment is taken online; cash is due at the shop. We hold the items until collection or cancellation by staff. Contact us if you no longer require the reservation. Keep the confirmation and order reference. If payment status is unclear, check it or contact us before paying again.
Display currency.
All catalogue prices, shipping charges and payments are in GBP. You can choose another display currency to see approximate equivalents calculated from published reference rates. The rate date is shown on the page. These estimates do not change the GBP price or guarantee your payment provider’s conversion rate. PayPal or your card provider may apply its own rate and fees. Offline or unavailable live rates use the last saved snapshot, labelled with its date.
4. Delivery and customs.
UK delivery uses Royal Mail Tracked 48. Overseas delivery uses International Tracked where available. Delivery charges are calculated automatically from the basket, destination and configured standard media packing allowances. We may split larger baskets into multiple tracked parcels. The checkout shows the total before payment and the server checks it again when the order is created. Shop collection is free; neither option requires staff approval.
The shipping page estimates shipping only. For delivery outside the UK, we do not currently collect EU import VAT through IOSS. Unless checkout explicitly confirms prepaid import charges, the recipient is responsible for import VAT or other local import taxes, customs duty and clearance or handling fees charged by customs or the carrier. These charges are separate from the amount paid to Boomshanka and may be required before delivery. Their amount depends on the destination, goods, value and current rules; check with the destination customs authority before ordering. Any charges we collect ourselves are identified in the checkout total before payment. See our international taxes and customs information. Nothing here limits your statutory rights or our refund commitments.
We will arrange a dispatch date with you. Unless a different delivery period is agreed, we will deliver within 30 days of accepting the order. Carrier delivery aims are estimates, not guaranteed dates. We remain responsible for the goods until they are delivered to you or the person you nominated, subject to applicable law.
5. Purchase item and collect from the shop.
Shop collection is free. Bring your order reference during our published opening hours. Contact us only if you need to arrange a different time. An order paid online remains an online purchase even when collected in person; your applicable cancellation rights remain.
6. Returns and refunds.
Our Returns & Refunds policy forms part of these terms. We refund returned items in full and reimburse return shipping as explained there. For an online cancellation, normally tell us within 14 days after receiving your goods, then send them back within a further 14 days. Faulty or misdescribed goods may give you additional rights.
7. Contact details and privacy.
Please provide accurate contact and, where relevant, delivery details so we can fulfil the order. We use this information as described in our Privacy & Cookies notice. We do not add you to a marketing list through checkout.
8. Problems or complaints.
Email us or message us through Facebook Messenger with your order reference and what has happened. We will work with you to put it right. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded, including your statutory consumer rights.
9. Law and future changes.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, without taking away mandatory consumer protections or the right to bring a claim in the courts available to you by law. Changes apply to future orders; the terms presented when you placed an order apply to that order.
